As I type this blurb it is the fifth of January or "Twelth Night". (Some say Twelth Night falls on the sixth - it depends when you start counting from Christmas.) Either way we're in the right ballpark. And Twelth Night, by tradition, is when we take down the Christmas decorations and stop pretending that winter is magical and cosy.

This chilly day boasts one famous play to its name. But few modern songs celebrate it. Indeed the whole of January is largely bypassed by music and festivity. Noone actually toasts "Blue Monday" - the most depressing day of the year according to pseudoscience. Yes, towards the end of the month Burns nights prompts some flatulence-inducing haggis consumption. But that's about it.

So...here's a happy-sad little song for this seemingly inauspicious day and month. I hope you like it. And if you do please pay a modest fee to cover my costs in creating it, stick it on your headphones and greet the chill with an open heart.
